One of the most sure and genuine sign that we have encountered is the Lizard Treasure Sign. It has different interpretations but it can be confirmed by using various metal detectors. I have heard many Japanese Nationals whom have successfully recovered from these kind of sign or marker. One in particular Japanese said that you just have to follow the tail of the Lizard Sign and dig until further signs appear like charcoals or black sands. Another possible meaning for most animals signs is the head. It serves as a pointer or it could be the head where stash of precious stones can be recovered. As one of my friend saw a Japanese pretending to ride on the animal sign head when locals saw and believed them as tourist. On the next day, the head of the animal sign is broken leaving an empty case where believed to be the storage of the jewelries or precious stones.
Deciphering treasure codes is the hardest part in treasure hunting, one mistake could go wrong, by understanding these codes can make you successful in recovering treasures.

A Hand Marker Pointing to Different Location of Treasure
On again to another journey to the most majestic mountains in the North. A comrade called us that there is an old man who claims that he had found a treasure and wants it to sell it to us. To our curiosity, we traveled to see if the story is true and that the said treasure is genuine. And while waiting for the old man because he wants to wait for his son to accompany him. It went for days, so we decided to work on some of the projects that our comrade has offered. And after that, they came to our meeting place and we had long conversation as to how did he recover his treasure.
The old man story was, when he is sleeping his dreaming a person pointing at something and saying that there is a food beneath this ground all that he needs to do is to dig and find it. His dream was always the same for many days pointing at the same location but he was hesitant to go and check because he was busy most of the time on his vegetable garden. And one day, he was tired of the dream showing every night he decided to go and check the location. To his surprise, it was almost the same, every stone and trees it completely resembles in his nightly dreams. He called his son and a neighbor to start the project and so they did. They noticed a Hand Marker was etched on the stone just beside the prospected site and their belief had a much higher hope that there is likely to have a treasure hidden as also it confirmed the dream of the old man was true.
The Hand Marker or Sign can sometimes be confusing as there are many possible meaning. It could be pointing at each 5 locations where the 5 fingers are pointing at or it could be the other way around pointing at the back of the hand.

Letter X with arrow and a Letter J Sign
In Northern part of Luzon, we have ventured through another place. One of our comrade called us that he had discovered signs along a small river nearby to their place. It was an hour walk because our vehicle cannot go any further to the site because of the bad condition and slippery roads. When we had reached our destination, we rested for a while and enjoyed the great view. We are far from the small town and we are on a wilderness. People who are passing near from the site experience ghosts sightings and they could even hear horses running in the evening and even a crying child at night. The old folks say that it was a battle ground during world war 2 and at the same time it was camped by Japanese soldiers. They were really hungry at that time and food is a serious necessity so they followed the river and camped there for many days hiding their treasures from the advancing Americans and Allies.
The letter X is commonly used treasure sign as the treasure spot as well as in maps. There is a lesser than sign etched below the X making it like an arrow that seems to be pointing at something. It is pointing at a weird white big rock just across the river. This was etched on a very hard and big rock, it is small in size but it was engraved artistically. I have searched and asked others what is the meaning of this sign. But they do not know since they have not yet encountered this kind of marking before. If you logically analyse it, the X mark means it is here and the arrow is pointing it. We did not bring any metal detectors when we went here and our intention is just to survey and confirm if these signs were true.

Old Battery Lamp and Gas Masks Glasses
During our trip to many various places in the Northern Luzon, we have many unearthed signs on our projects and I could not figure out some on how do they use these but others were clear to me. We went to a place in the mountains where our guide took us because he suspected and heard that the place was garrisoned by Japanese soldiers before. It was a tunnel in the mountain side near a small river, as he was digging forward, he noticed a lot of soil deformation. He noticed also that there were some kind of rooms that was created and to his surprise he found a metal chest but it was EMPTY, containing only a few pieces of bullets. Then after that, he also recovered various items such as the old watch, an old pen, and old small wagon. Along with these, when he called us that we should carry our metal detector and detect the place.Saturday, May 5, 2012
Nail Markers on Trees
Many old trees were used by the Japanese Army to mark where stolen war treasure and it has been proven by many who were lucky to recover from these Nail Pointers. But we need to understand these pointers because not every nail in the tree is pointing at the treasure. I have encountered these signs and we were already late in recovering the treasure since there were people who have gone first already. Although there were no witnesses as to who have recovered them there were evidences and traces that we have found, one in particular is an empty box with the lock removed and there is nothing inside it. We were excited opening the chest but we were dismayed, traces of bars or marks on the chest were still there. To our dismay we went home and planned for another journey and place where sightings of signs are present.

Treasure Signs That Tells You are on the Right Spot
I have heard a lot of stories that some have recovered successfully some Yamashita Treasure and of course there are similarities of treasure signs encountered when they were digging. The most common is charcoals, these were found before upon recovering gold bars and or jewelries. Sacks of charcoals were found by treasure hunters at about 5 feet of their site and after positively confirming that their is a cache of treasure by using metal detectors. Then 2 feet after the charcoals there were drums found and that is finally where the treasure was. Gold bars were coated with black or something that is like a rubber to keep the gold from keeping apart because of heat from under the ground.
Hard cement is also a common encounter and it could be found on the ground or beneath a suspected site. It is hard because by even using jack hammers and manually using a chisel and hammer the cement would not even budge. But successful ones were able to break this by the use of a hydrochloric acid, this softens the cement or even melts it. Be careful in using this type of acid and always use appropriate protective gears. Another technique or option if there is no acid available, you can just widen your dig and go beneath the cement and discover it. Some have also broken those cement and found some gold bars on it maybe used as an extra filling.
